Remember when I said that maybe I needed a break from the website? I did. What effect did it have on me, you might wonder. Well, first of all, let me share with you what I did during my break:
Compose my emotions
Consult trusted adults for advice
Take a break and not worry about the website
Have more family time
Go out more often
Read and do my hobbies
Have more recreational time
Hang out with my friends
As you can see, my break was not very long or extremely exciting. It was just an ordinary break. No travelling, no amusement parks, but it did have a huge impact on me. Not only did I manage to pick up some tips for my website, I also managed to look at things in a more positive and different way. If you do not know what I mean, you can check out my previous website (The Ups And Downs Of Crowdfunding Part 2).
When I came back and shifted my attention to this website, I saw things differently.
I saw that all of you are my trusted supporters whom I can go to anytime. I do not have to worry about not being positive enough, I just have to be genuine.
I realised that I do not have to be on this website or online 24/7. Whenever I have a new supporter, I come back here. When I have a new blog idea, I come here. But when I have neither, I carry on with my life. This website is not my whole life. I have friends, school, activities and emotions to maintain. I am not forced to update this website ALL the time.
It appears that if I do not like others to remind me often about the same things, I just have to get them done before they do (silly me for not thinking about that).
I have people around me who cares. And they do not want me to suffer. Plus, I do not have to worry that they are expecting something new from me every minute. They have their own things to look after too.
So as you can see, my break certainly changed the way I saw things. It's like a math puzzle: You can't solve it if you keep staring at it. But after you step away from it and carry on with other things, when you come back to that question, the answer reveals itself. Actually, it was there all along, you just needed to view it in a different way.
To many, taking breaks is a waste of time. If you take too many breaks and use them as excuses to avoid doing something, then yes, taking breaks is a waste of time. But if you take breaks like once every two hours (in that two hours you are studying very hard or working), then taking breaks is definitely NOT a waste of time. In fact, it helps you to gather and balance your emotions and thoughts, so that when you come back to your work, you feel more refreshed and ready.
All in all, my break has certainly helped me to view things very differently, almost as if I switched minds but not quite. I hope these blog has been useful for you, especially if you have been overly stressed of burdened by something. Take a break from life and clear your troubled minds. And I hope that when you come back, you'll be able to focus more and get things done faster.
Best Regards,
Adlyn
