Hii everyone! How are you? I hope you're well :) Time flies so fast! Just a few moments ago, I completed the funding of my braces with the help of my AMAZING SUPPORTERS and got braces. Now, in a blink of an eye, I have removed my braces! Everything happened so fast, and I can't believe 1 year has already passed! Ahhhhh 😭😭 Here's what happened today, as well was my reflection over the whole journey:
This morning, my family and I headed to the dental clinic. The orthodontist had already informed me last month, that I could remove my braces during the next check-up, but I still didn't feel prepared. I couldn't accept the fact that it was time to remove my braces, and that time had passed so quickly 😞. Plus, the braces felt like a part of me, and everything would be different without it. I let the truth settle in and finally accepted that today was the day I had been waiting years for 😃.
I sat on the dental chair as the orthodontist examined my teeth and part of me started to feel excited. I anticipated being able to eat some foods that I couldn't with my braces (like gum 🤭).
The orthodontist started to pry away the braces brackets from my teeth. I just stared up at the ceiling as I begin to feel more positive about this. After removing the braces, he removed the glue used to stick my braces to my teeth. Then, he polished my teeth many, many, many times. 🦷
After about 15 minutes, we were done (the orthodontist is very efficient) 😦. I looked at the mirror and studied my teeth. They were DEFINITELY straighter now! My teeth looked so different and it felt so smooth! The entire removing process was easier than I had imagined and it wasn't as bad as I thought! 🥳🥳
When I reached home, I ate bubblegum for the first time since I put on my braces (I've been waiting to do this for a year 😂) and I tried to blow a bubble (unfortunately didn't succeed).
But although my braces are off, I will still have to wear retainers for 24 hours for 2-3 months and wear them every night after that, to maintain my newly straightened teeth.
The results
I feel really happy and blessed to be able to have braces and to be able to record everything in my blogs. The entire experience has been so fun and I learnt a lot from it. I absolutely learnt the importance of returning value, and perseverance. Even when it gets hard, I should never give up. However, all these wouldn't have been possible without my Amazing Supporters, family, and my orthodontist (who was also my mother's orthodontist when she was my age).
Meeeee
To my Amazing Supporters, thank you so much for caring and always being there to support me ♥️ You're my encouragement whenever I do something, and I appreciate every one of you so much. No matter what happens, you always stay by my side. I'm so so so grateful to have all of you in my life. From the start of this awesome journey, to the end and the start of another, you have supported me all the time. Thank you so much for being there. 🥰
To my family, thank you for providing advice, feedback and care during this wonderful journey and all my life. I would have never made it here without you. 💖 You helped me grow a lot and I'm thankful to have all of you.
My family and I outside the dental clinic
Even though it's the end of my braces journey, it's not the end of my journey. I will still continue to write blogs about my life, and send them to you! I can't wait for whatever happens next year and to be able to share this journey with you. 😆 Once again, thank you for always being there to support me. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog! Wishing you an AMAZING CHRISTMAS! 🎄🎁🦌Stay safe and I hope to see you soon!
Best regards,
