It's been about two months since I started Secondary School! I am enjoying the activities there. Recently, I have just finished my exams which were harder than expected for some subjects but I think I'll do okay 🙂. But other than exams, another exciting thing around the corner is collecting my PLD (personal learning device)!
A PLD is an electronic device (mostly laptops and tablets) that every secondary student will receive from their school to assist them in studying and doing online work. For my secondary school, every secondary one student will be getting a Chromebook (a model of laptops) with an active stylus! The PLD will help us in studying (for example, using online lesson platforms in class when instructed to) for six years. After that, we get to keep the PLD.
This is my first time getting a PLD and I am extremely excited for this experience!😆 However, with every pro come a con. Even though the school has subsidised the cost of the PLD, the price of the PLD we have to pay is quite a huge amount - about $940!😱
Despite the price, I am grateful and thankful to have a close friend of my father, also my god-grandmother, who offered to cover the cost of the PLD. I appreciate this act a lot and I want to thank her for always being there for my family and I through thick and thin. Whether it's during Chinese New Year, or just a normal weekend, she always take time to care for us and make sure we are doing well.🥹Her contribution to my life has shaped me a lot and I always enjoy visiting her! 🥰
I use my PLD everyday and I really love it a lot! I will treasure it forever! 😍
