Hello Amazing Supporters! I hope everyone is good. About two weeks ago, I returned home from a family trip to Western Australia PERTH! It was one of the most enjoyable trips I had been to! 😍 Below are the details of the trip!
On day 1, we landed in Perth! My family and I rented a car 🚙 that we would be driving for 10 days around Western Australia. One of the reasons why we had chosen to go to Perth for a holiday was because my siblings and I enjoyed long road trips 🧳. Then, we drove to Cevantes to see the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park and the view was incredible!
We also joined a tour group to take us stargazing but unfortunately, the area we were at did not have a clear view of the stars. ☹️ As it was getting quite late, my family decided to leave early, we stopped for a toilet break just outside the park and the craziest thing happened! The sky was dotted with thousands of shiny stars like an entire galaxy! 🌠 It was marvellous! (I couldn't capture the entire sky 😭 the pic with the stars only shows less than half of the stars).
Throughout the entire trip, we stayed in 5 different AirBNBs and visited many different places that looked like something out of a movie! On day 2, we went to the Sand Dunes and rented a board to slide down the sand dunes with. It was super fun, although the wind was quite strong. In Perth, the weather was stranger than Singapore's. We went at the start of summer, and the sun in Perth was scorching! ☀️The wind was cold ❄️ and the nights were freezing, but in the daytime, it was burning! The temperature stayed below 30 degrees 🥶 but it still felt way hotter than that.
On day 3, we visited Caversham Wildlife Park. It was my first time seeing Koalas up close! They were very cute and I even got to get a picture with one! The funniest part about the Koala exhibition was hearing a Koala call for its mate. It made low, desperate cries but no Koalas came to him! In the end, he just stopped and went to sleep 🤣🤣
In the Wildlife park, I also got to feed Kangaroos from my hand! 🦘 Most of them were lying around, resting. But the younger Kangaroos hopped to us immediately when we squatted down with the feed in our palms. They were extremely tame and you can pat their backs gently while feeding them.
On day 4, we went to the famous Blue House. It was smaller than I expected, and there was a long line of tourists queuing to get a photo. It was located at the side of a busy road near the city, and it was easy to miss it. Still, the experience was enjoyable and worth the wait.
Then, we drove to Busselton, and visited the popular Busselton jetty. The Busselton Jetty was actually one of my favourite tourist attractions. I loved how neat the blue houses were beside the jetty and how clear the sea was!
On day 5, we walked along the Busselton Jetty, in the morning the longest jetty on Earth! Its total length was 1.841 km and the walk was satisfying. The sea breeze was so refreshing and the view was breathtaking. ❤️
Next, we went to Meelup farm and the Sugerloaf rocks. It was so beautiful! After that, we headed to Injidup Natural Spa. The Spa was like a pond surrounded by rocks, right beside the sea. When the tide comes in, the sea water splashes over the rocks and into the pond, creating the Natural Spa. As the water was too cold, we only stayed for a while.
On day 6, we headed to a winery and a chocolate factory (where my siblings and I got a lot of free samples 🤭). We also went to the mouth of Margaret River, where the freshwater river met the saltwater sea! We liked it so much that we decided to visit it again the next day, to swim and play in the river and sea.
On day 7, we went to Hamelin Bay beach, a beach famous for stingrays coming close to the shore. The best timing to visit is in the mornings, from 7-10 am, to see the stingrays. For the stingrays to swim up to our feet, all we had to do was to stand still and not panic. The stingrays were friendly and gentle, and I enjoyed the beach very much. In the afternoon, we went to Margaret River to play!
On day 8, we set off on a 5 hour car ride to Albany wind farm 😱. We stopped by Cape Leewin lighthouse on the way there. I had visited Cape Leewin when I was about 3 years old, but I had no memory of it. This time, I think I'll remember the trip even after 10 years! After spending more than 5 hours on the road, we FINALLY arrived at the Albany wind farm 🥳. It felt good to be able to stretch our legs while taking in the picturesque view.
The Albany wind farm had so many wind turbines, and they were such a wonderful sight! The wind farm was ALSO beside the cleanest beach I've ever seen 😂. We took many pictures, before heading back to Perth city. The drive back was 5 hours long, and the road was pitch-black. I fell asleep halfway through the journey and woke up about an hour later. As there were no toilets along the way, we were all urgent and had to practise controlling our urine.
Thankfully, to our relief, there was a 24 hour McDonald's 🍔 near the city, right when we almost couldn't hold it in anymore. The McDonald's had A TOILET, and it saved us that night. We ordered a few burgers and some fries, and continued the journey. It was around 12am or 1am when we reached the AirBNB. After eating the McDonald's 🍟, we went to bed at 2am. I would never forget this road trip. The experience of sitting in a car for 5 hours in the middle of the night and visiting a McDonald's at 11pm is not something I can experience regularly. The next day, we woke up at 10am and it was the best sleep ever! 😴
On day 10, we flew back to Singapore (and watched many movies on the flight hehe).
Overall, this trip was one of the most memorable ones in my life. We had a lot of family time together, and bonded so much. I got to see and visit places that looked like Google wallpapers, and I learnt many facts and gained plenty of knowledge from this trip. Usually, at the end of a trip, I would feel like the trip was too short, no matter how long it actually was. But for this trip, it felt whole and very 充实. Even though the trip was definitely not perfect, but we still had a great time together! 🤗 The places we visit doesn't have to be far, or famous for us to enjoy the trip. As long as everyone is together and united, anywhere we go will be memorable.
Thank you for reading this blog and for all the support! I hope you enjoyed this blog and I wish everyone a wonderful and safe week ahead!
Best regards,
Adlyn 🩷
