Just an hour or so immersed in nature, but a thousand things to benefit from. Indeed, nature is one of those places where we can lose ourselves in. Be it a short walk in the park or a hike in the mountains, we will always feel better after returning from nature.
In my previous blog, I talked about taking breaks. Being in nature is certainly one of the more preferred option of a break.
Just a few days ago, I went on a hike at Lower Peirce's Reservoir. I saw many common animals and insects, but seeing them in their habitat; their true home (not at void decks or corridors in the bustling city), was different. They belonged in nature. We were visiting their home. There were areas that were sheltered by trees and the ground littered with dried leaves and covered with soil. I enjoyed the peace and quiet there. I enjoyed the beauty and sounds of nature, the cool air, the moist and rich smell of the earth. I was extremely focused, I realised, without me trying to be focused! After the hike, even though I was sweaty and hot, I felt refreshed and cool (almost like how you would feel if you ate a mint candy). Have you ever felt that way and do not know why? Or perhaps you are wondering what other benefits nature have?
Being in nature or even viewing the scenes of nature reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. That may be the reason why immersing yourself in nature is such a great way to relieve stress!
Nature have many other benefits, but the ones above are those that mainly matters. Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed emotionally, take a walk in the park or better still, head to a reservoir or garden and let nature do its job!
I hope that this blog had been helpful for you and that you now know where to go during your free time or break. Thank you for being my Amazing Supporters, I truly appreciate your support and contribution to my braces journey. :D
Best Regards,
Adlyn
